Again, the problem with liberals creating rules on free speech is that what is "harmful" or "hateful" is in the eye of the beholder. I say we call this virus the Wuhan Virus, because the Chinese Communist Party did a very bad thing and it has resulted in 162K deaths around the world. The CCP needs to be held accountable. The liberals are more concerned that holding the Communist Party in China accountable may cause some Chinese people in the US to experience racism or discomfort. So they become apologists for and defend the Chinese Communists. Wherever you fall on this debate, this highlights the problem. Liberals will tell you we need to ban all opinions and speech that advocates for calling it the CCP Virus or the Wuhan Virus. Free Speech advocates like me believe this debate needs to be open and transparent and no one should be judging what is "correct" free speech, because the opinions are so polarized that a regime of censorhip to protect feelings will stifle the debate and most likely lead to China not being held accountable. Consequence? If China gets away with what they did without consequences, then they will do it again and again and again. And maybe one of those times, the human race goes extinct. Free speech is not just a nice to have. It is a mandatory requirement for not just freedom, but for continued existence of the human race.
