Pelosi on Chris Wallace this a.m., when asked about her saying while in Chinatown that there was no threat, that it is perfectly safe in S.F., and telling people to come there, Pelosi told Wallace,

'... No, what we were trying to do is to end the discrimination, the stigma that was going out against the Asian American community...

...I thought it was necessary to offset some of the things that the President and others were saying about Asian Americans and making them a target, a target of violence across the country of hate crimes being committed...

...No, I was saying that you should not discrim against [sic], discriminate against Chinese Americans, as some in our Administration were doing by the way they were labeling the flu...

...And that's what were saying, look to them for answers, don't look to them to place blame...''

No, her response to Chris Wallace was a complete, total fabrication. Her own local San Francisco media reported it at the time she was there. It was about the coronavirus. She even downplayed any notion of racism:

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was in San Francisco on Monday spending several hours visiting Chinatown to encourage people to visit the shops and restaurants there amid fears of the coronavirus.

Business in Chinatown has really slowed down over the last month, mainly due to concerns about the coronavirus.

Pelosi did a walking tour of the area starting in the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Shop.

She also visited several other businesses and talked to people.

Neighbors, including the owner of the cookie shop, who says the last month has been difficult....

“You should come to Chinatown. Precautions have been taken by our city. We know there is concern about tourism throughout the world but we think it’s very safe to be in Chinatown and hopefully, others will come,” Pelosi said.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi toured San Francisco's Chinatown Monday to send a message. She said there's no reason tourists or locals should be staying away from the area because of coronavirus concerns.

"That’s what we’re trying to do today is to say everything is fine here," Pelosi said. "Come because precautions have been taken. The city is on top of the situation...."

... Chan said his business is losing about $500-$800 a day, or about 70% on average. He believes the fear of the virus is racially motivated.

"I think it's because even if I walk out and cough a little bit — my throat is itchy — they look at me, 'Oh,' like this, 'scary,'" he said.

As Pelosi walked from the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory to lunch at a dim sum restaurant, she hugged friends and waved to onlookers. She downplayed the racism issue, saying she understands people are concerned about China – the epicenter of the novel coronavirus.

"But that shouldn’t be carried over to Chinatown in San Francisco," she said. "I hope that it’s not that. But all I can say is, 'I’m here.' We feel safe and sound, so many of us coming here."
