CO,
There are still churches in the deep south where they practice snake handling--and I ain't talking about the harmless little green snakes or my friend on my patio that I call Larry the Lizard.

I only have one requirement for these people--if you want to handle snakes that Sunday--don't sit on MY ROW!

The Dems will never win a Southern Babtist State with an attitude like that and the Republicans know it and use that to their advantage. Missouri is now solidly Republican because of all the evangelicals in the Southern part of the State.

Look at Florida. Still a Republican strong hold despite all the New Yorkers who have moved to South Florida.

One causes resentment and permanent political divisions when one imposes the will of the minority on any level.

I am of similar view to RB on abortion... HOWEVER the Libertarian in me says it is not my call for anyone but me.. so that is how I need to live and vote.. Obviously the point is somewhat moot me being almost 64 and well past my child bearing years <ng> (and male) but seriously (and I have had this discussion in part before) .. With my kids I was the nurturing one.. not my wife.. and part of that aborted fetus is me if it had have been my wife.. ... so although I acquiesce to my libertarian bent on the issue.. it still rubs...

as an aside terminating a pregnancy for gender is not often the woman's choice.. realise that also... That has come to the forefront in Canada with the large influx of immigrants.. but we simply choose to have no law... beyond it being legal at ANY stage of pregnancy...
