"why did they let him in only to screw him?" That's a good question. IIRC, the rules said you had to be a Dem to be in the debates, so he never shudda been on the stage. "what about Mayor Pete, Senator Amy and Warren, clearly they were persuaded ( using a mild word) to withdraw?" They were persuaded by the voters and the donors. So were a few others. I think the only one who wasn't was Bloomberg. He didn't lose any donors.
