I used to think that until I learned that the way they are keeping count is if you have underlying illnesses, it gets counted as a Coronavirus death even though it could have been the “underlying” illness that took you down.
Yes, I hear that all the time from the conspiracy theorists.

They're even spamming news articles with claims that people dying from car crashes or violent crime during this pandemic are being counted as COVID-19 deaths.

There are so many facts that they end up putting through a reality distortion field:

- The infection rates are far higher than the numbers suggest. This is actually plausible.

- The death rates are far lower because they're counting everything as COVID-19 deaths.

- The hospital utilization rates aren't as high as reported.

- Hospital workers aren't working overtime, and those who are are only doing it needlessly because of an artificial shortage of staff.

- The effects of COVID-19 are no different than the seasonal flu, and the doctors who say otherwise are just exaggerating.
