BOB: I don't think it's the same.
I am opening an account. The broker says to me, "what do you wish to do?"
I say "I want to sell Bob Z's shares, through my account, he will sign them over to me tomorrow." Wouldn't most brokers say, "well come back tomorrow, with the certs in your hand?"
How does the broker know I didn't fabricate the whole story?
Okay, now..I don't tell him about the Bob Z deal.
It seems to me, that the shares must be delivered, by law, in the three days. Isn't that what T3 is all about?
The firm must have collateral in their account.
Okay..they don't release the twenty thousand.
Thrre days pass. Margin call.
The firm for whatever reason, doesn't get more money from me.
THEY buy back the shares, limiting their liabilty, and sue me.
If I am wrong, in these scenarios, please correct.al
