DLJ has lowered the sector and TDW and HMAR in particular. They say dayrates will drop in 2nd half and lowered earnings est for TDW and HMAR. HMAR 1998 from $3.27 down to $2.42, they say.

I now understand that 75 supply boats will come on line in 1998-1999. This doesn't seem to be that out of line with the 40 per year demand increase that I guessed at yesterday.

Dazed and Confused.

HMAR looks cheap. The comments by TDW along with there forecast of some dayrate increases likly nearterm suggests the biggest player wants to slow the pace of new equipment by making negative industry comments and taking a nearterm hit to itself.
However, the pessimism may not be quite all played out. I would like to see some suppport develop and some insider buying before I add to positions. The story in oil is long term(5yrs.) very bullish. I have not sold any shares in this industry.
Best regards,
John
