What are the best dividend stocks for retirement? Many were just shooting for the greatest yield, ignoring the health of the balance sheet. I saw very little, if any, conversation about that on this thread. The high yielders, who fell in love with ECC and OXLC got destroyed while the JNJs and LLYs of the world are hitting new all time highs today.

The Piper always gets paid eventually when you ignore the balance sheet.

It's great to make money on the way up. But what's the point if you lose most of it on the way down?

Some people are stubborn and never learn.
