Brian....I was struck by the similarity of these two statements:

From your post:

AfriTel intends to offer many African countries the opportunity to leapfrog existing telecommunications technology and improve teledensity (i.e., the number of phones per 100 people)with high-quality, high-capacity, digital wireless systems.

From Mark Mobius, highly respected manager of Templeton Emerging Markets Fund, as reported recently in Outstanding Investor Digest (OID).

"Mobius: Also, this same combination of factors - changing population structure, higher literacy, better telecommunications, more technology, higher technology - means that emerging countries can actually leapfrog past developed nations. They can acquire the latest technology faster than ever before in the history of mankind."

If you've never read OID, you should. They have a website at oid.com If you decide to subscribe, tell them I sent you.
