Bipin, I'm not knocking Atmel any more, just bragging about past calls, where I took a lot of heat on this thread. I think it is not grossly overpriced here. If it survives this downturn, it will go higher.

I never did buy St. Paul when I was there. I was always underwhelmed by mgt. and I knew how they made eps estimates, by swelling my dividend capture portfolio right before the big dividend season. -g- Also, they bought a Lloyd's broker at the absolute top, bought real estate at the absolute top, and bought oil when energy was king. The good news was, the equity and fixed income depts were and still are a lot of very bright people. Just win, baby, seems to be their philosophy and they do win.

I was wrong about management. Yes, they needed a brain transplant, but compared to their competition, they are first rate. I didn't know enough about the competition at the time. Couldn't see the forest for all the trees. MB
