koan- good post. nothing we didn't already know but a good reminder that we need to get together and start working to build a more accessible platform for governance that opens the doors for all to participate. i did a little online searching and found something that sounds promising. it's on wikieducator.org and it's called wikigovernance. wikieducator.org it looks like it was started 12 or 13 years ago but never took off, so it's just sitting there waiting for an experienced government retiree like yourself to begin building it out and getting volunteers connected and working on it. i can't believe it's been sitting there for 12 years and you haven't added a thing to it yet. get busy... time's a wastin'. This will not be the only virus epidemic. I am most concerned that we will see a nuclear WW piling on. Might be Hindu vs. Muslim. Or China vs. SE Asia downstream the drying Mekong. Or perhaps trigger-itching Trump vs. Iran. What worries me the most is that Trump will take from FDR's era that a big war will bring him the most power in the polls and his delusions of a historic "Trump" economic recovery from "Obama's disasters." The needed big war is of economics -- taxation and distribution-of-wealth within the socialist PLUS free markets nature of the USA, from its founding. Reptile Trump, with McConnell's Vaseline, jerks-off to the supply-side ummm trickle-down era. Just look at his chosen captains. As we continue in this direction; it is effectively spun as FDR-esque populism to the important angry, screaming Rush Limbaugh loyal working class. Hope comes down to unspinning the RW propaganda and a Democratic Party sweep in November. Then the privileged interests must pay honest progressive taxes to invest in the country bottoms-up for recovery. This also requires democratic party unity despite left/center differences and the certain machine gun of Republican disinformation to divide us. Even with a sweep, expect the use of new federal court partisans for virtually legislating their agenda. And colossal investigations launched from the usual RW machines like Judicial Watch. Keep the seat belts fastened and as we learned recently, NO FARTING.
