RE: Observations on Projections.

Brent,

1) Flat unit sales Q4 to Q1?

I've projected a growth in OEM sales and a decline in retail sales. This is consistent with what we saw last year. The ad campaign might help to offset that, but I'm making my estimates conservative. Also (although this has nothing to do with Zip unit sales), Q1 will likely see little or no impact from Jaz2 and Buz.

2) Declining manufacturing costs and no Zip price decreases?

Yes, I've factored in manufacturing costs dropping over time. In the conference call, I'm pretty sure I remember KE saying that he would consider price decreases later in the year. He said that they would serve no useful purpose _right now_.

Brent: there are at least a couple of ways to look at 1st Q zip sales. Iomegas business is still a seasonal business, with the 4th quarter being the strongest. 1st Q 97 saw about 1.2 million zips sold. A 100% increase for 1st Q 98 would result in about 2.4 million zips.

As Michael points out in his projections - 4th Q 96 was also about 1.2 million in sales so there is also a case to be made that sales can remain at the strong 4th quarter levels for 1st quarter 97 and reach 3 million.

In my opinion, we will be having a very good quarter if we can reach 3 million and KE is announcing 15 million at the next conference call. I'm expecting a little less.
