Trump's brand of realistic imperfection... is vastly superior to the competing brands theater of faux perfection. Voters WANT Trump to tear down the facade of faux perfection and the obstacles to change... that's the reason he won the election... and will win again in a landslide... that on current trend should decimate his opposition... Take Trump out of the equation... ? Nah. This is what I think .. and why I say outta his league.. (said this before) .. He does not need to be.. but chooses so.. That's a definition of the problem... not a definition of Trump as the problem... but the reason that Trump is the solution. The American people get to define the league... we're not here to be told by "experts" what the league has to be composed of... or who the favorites must be. By our calculus... the problem is those not on Trump's side... are playing for the wrong team. In the degree his choices highlight that fact... it expands his majority. Trump is the anti-establishment... and he's the ONLY candidate from 2016 or 2020 of whom that's true. The rest is theater. Your system was designed to not let anyone have too much power,, yet it comes down each 4 year election to a popularity contest for prez. That's a common misunderstanding about power. Our system was designed to maximize power... but does so while isolating its ownership in specific allocations... and then also ensuring that it remains ultimately beholden to the real ownership... as that is expressed in the will of the voters... The elements in which power is not specifically allocated... engenders some competition... and that's by design also in terms of checks and balances, so that power is allocated, not aggregated... but also not diminished... The competition ultimately leads less to success in aggregation... than to changes in choices. His biz practices well known.. are not compatible with governing a nation.. let alone the most powerful and richest nation on the planet.. That's just wrong. We voters, here, get to choose what's appropriate for us... and the rest of you buggers can sod off. America's innate openness... leads lots of others to think they ARE participants in our processes and that they should have a role in choosing. We're happy to let you spout off. Doesn't mean your opinion has any weight. We're still far better judges of our own governance... than others are. He wants to be a one man show.. there are no do overs.. Politicians with egos ? Who'd of thunk it ? Obama... with his nose constantly in the air ? LOL!! If there were no do overs... we wouldn't need elections. Of course there are do overs. Choices being malleable to our whims... is sort of the whole point ? And, that's not just here, of course. Here we have a dedicated method for fostering change in a quadrennial increment imposing the requirement that revolution be conducted incrementally... That system is by design in its function, spread between 2, 4 and 6 year periods, conservative enough that it requires any real change only occurs through a sustained impetus in a process that unfolds over not less than about ten years... while otherwise you tend to end up with a lot of smoke and noise generated for little effect. China, by contrast... is both far more rigid and in consequence brittle... requiring that change might occur more suddenly... and erratically. Within the communist party... sloth gives way to the cult of personality... and the party brooks no meaningful dissent... ensuring one idiot in charge can derail the entire scheme... as Xi is fully intent upon now... by reversing China's prior course, to set himself swimming against the tide of history. Canada ? Laughable that American's should suffer criticisms, including criticisms of Trump, from Canada. To approach the farce that is the clownish Canadian leadership today... we'd have to elect Hunter Biden as President... he cannot declare bankruptcy .. well it can happen for the US but God willing it will never come to that and that it would in NO WAY be all on Mr. Trump by ANY stretch... There is a lot of benefit in having leadership with experience that has resulted in enabling thinking that is not constrained by the limits in others perception. Trump is right about hydroxychloroquine... as one example... show me conclusive proof ?.. Show me conclusive proof in the opposite ? Why the sudden insistence that only one opinion has to be based in a proof the other side approves ? Do pay attention to how reason and opinion are in conflict ? The science was posted by others in links here... showing the function in relation to zinc... ? Knowing that function is the operative means, why would you design a drug trial for HCQ that DOESN'T include zinc supplementation... and instead specifically excludes it ? That's precisely what was done in the studies claimed to have "disproved" HCQ's function ? Which didn't stop political opponents from using those studies in attacking Trump as... in over his head ? Somehow, I doubt HCQ was Trump's idea, originally ? Where did that idea come from ? Why was he amenable to the idea... and why are others opposed ? I'm less interested, still, in buying the rope... than in opening eyes... since its not a "one off" ? Perhaps the differences between asymptomatic, lightly symptomatic, and highly impacted... are related to differences in zinc metabolism and/or dietary zinc deficiency ? Where are the studies... or the calls for studies ? After a NOT quick start on testing with the bureaucrats left in charge... a surge, and successes, occurred with their defeat. But, now we see lots of other requirements going unaddressed... all due to the sustained lack of official curiosity or official... give-a-shit factor ? Conclusive proof ? In itself... is a part of the problem... when faced with a threat that is greater than the threat of violating some particular standard of proof ? You want to avoid thalidomide II... but letting people die because you haven''t approved something that might work to save them... is no less insane ? The system we have... is dysfunctional BECAUSE it is focused on erecting obstacles and NOT driven in solving problems... The incentives are wrong. The rewards are inappropriately dispensed. COVID-19 patients who are getting an experimental drug called remdesivir have been recovering quickly, with most going home in days So, if both HCQ and some new drug on patent both work that way... which of the two will "the system" support and why ? Why run interference to obstruct HCQ... when it was clearly "winning" ? If you think the answer is about "proof" and "things medical" and not "political" as well as "financial"... you're not paying attention. The rope, again... But, for now, it is being paid out... at a pace that is unconstrained. US AND Canada dropped the ball on sealing borders.. No, it wasn't "the US and Canada" that dropped that ball... but only specific partisans in both who, while engaged in a partisan jihad against "racists", were wholly unwilling to listen to more reasoned judgement ? How long had Trump been talking about border problems... including the introduction of health risks that have been absent in America for a generation, that are back again now ? We have TB and typhus in Los Angeles ? Why ? ONLY because some partisan jihadi agenda was made more important than the public health ? I blame Republicans... for being far too tolerant of the obvious bogosity of the left... Seems to me the voters CLEARLY got that one right... including by electing Trump largely FOR THAT REASON... and the ones who got it wrong are the ones that have been objecting to the voters will... and deliberately obstructing it... because they "know better" ? Trump shut down travel from China early, over opposition... and that still failed... because bureaucrats in the State Department (no hot bed of Trump support) chose to over-ride elements of that specific direction on exclusion... thus causing the outbreaks in California and Washington state ? Anyway... don't expect the miscreants on the left to accept responsibility... or change their religious belief in their own infallibility ?
