My instincts is that tommarow will be either too late or too early. If the earnings are worse than expected, the stock will trend lower over the next two weeks (barring an offer, which actually would be reconsidered if earnings are much worse). If the earnings are better than the initial estimates, the stock will open higher and will cost you 1-2 points more. The stock is trading in a very tight range so far today. I find that curious. I would have thought it would be trading up leading to earnings. Either someone knows something and is slowly selling into todays strength or no one knows anything and everyone is trading cautiously. On a buyout, I would suspect that the offer would be 25, a good in between number that would be satisfactory to many (especially the thousands that bought in the past month). The earnings tonight will make a big differance to all of us in the stock. Steve D.
