Private prisons are another abomination of the Republicans. When the dems get into office they will be outlawed. It is just part of the Republicans long efforts to supplant and turn over to big business needed public institutions like prisons, schools and other institutions so they can profit from our countries wealth. So they can steal from the people and down grade our social contract. Private prisons are among the worst. When a society decides to remove a person, then that society must also be responsible for that person health and welfare. Private prisons are run on a for profit basis and the health and welfare is the last thing they care about. Of course the main body of the Republicans in congress operate as sociopaths, so they care little about the suffering of others. And smart is as smart does! Sioux Pal was a solid progressive democrat who knew the Democrats were better than the Republicans and put it on his header. He was a decent and wise man. .
