Some kinds are and setting out to kill someone certainly is. I realize Trumpers probably think killing Dems is okay, but its not.

Some state and local laws prohibit possession of specific types of knives.

That makes possession of those knives illegal.

I don't know about the U.S. but in Canada switchblades and butterfly knives are illegal, I have had both but now I always have a buck knife in my pocket, I think a hidden blade over 3 inches is illegal.
