Mark - Your knowledge is astounding. I have a different perspective, but sometimes it hard to see the forrest through the trees. I don't think anything is totally one way, but usually a combination. That's why I love Silicon Investor.

Best Wishes,

:)

Mark:

<<BA will milk the cash cow (copper plant) in the near term with ADSL but its plans are to close out local competition within five-ten years by going fiber. i don't expect BA to invest a lot in beefing up their copper infrastructure.>>

Are you saying they will continue their half-hearted effort in DSL for five more years while spending their cash flow fighting with regulators and overlaying a high speed network? Given what I've seen of this strategy over the past two years, I think there's more risk here than they realize. Five to ten years in a world populated with companies like Taligent, Teleport, Compaq and Intel is way too long. The RBOCs aren't operating on geologic time any more.
