Terry:

(1) HAAPI means Human Authentication API (API being a kind of internal universal translator within the software, often found in all kinds of applications, and I'm sure someone out there off the top of their head can tell you what the initials stand for). NRID is promoting it as a software platform on which people can plug in various types of biometric applications (i.e., fingerprint, face recognition, etc.) at once. May have some very high security uses. Mostly it means the NRID threadsters have something to pin their dreams on.

(2) I am not sure, but I think that $370,000 Sylvan income is really the cost of TP-600s sold and then charged off. Sounds like there are about six to eight of them. They may be in more than two locations by now.

(2a) Revenues will be minimal until the shakedown period is over. Revenues will be significant as soon as the joint venture can land a national account, like fingerprinting NASD brokers.

(3) Guessing: maybe depreciation on machines, or costs of installation.

(4) Products on the government schedule are lower than retail in return for the expectation of constant customers and, as you noted, lower overhead. Don't know if this is a complete answer.

(5) I agree BA&T has changed the R&D equation. We haven't seen new products from this acquisition yet, but we are seeing development expenses (the "engineering" that Fowler referred to). I expect internet-related deals to emerge from this division.

(6) No press on O'Hare. Some pilots can go on for a while.
