The last paragraph from the old Forbes article you refer to:

The article was written last May 1997. The analyst probably was feeling quite heady from Intel's gains, which was at its all time high at that time of around $84, and probably felt that Intel couldn't be jarred from its perch. Intel closed yesterday at $77.69, reflecting that the competing chips have taken some share and eroded margins. I'll bet that he's not quite as confident of Intel's invincibility right now, today.
