Yes, the cases show that people of all ages get sick from this. But same thing with the flu. Drill down. Who dies from this? 99% of the people who die from this are either old, obese, or have heart or lung disease. So what is the lesson? Quarantine yourself if you are in those risk categories and be very careful. If you are obese, then understand that you have to take responsibility for your health and that failure to do so, puts you at much greater risk of death. I personally spend 30-60 minutes EVERY day getting a good run in and working out with weights. I invest in my own health so I can live longer and do more with my life in my retirement. We all also have a duty wear masks and avoid coming into contact with the old and known people in the risk categories.

But the peanut butter approach of destroying tens of millions of lives and putting 33 million so far into poverty? That is madness. Idiots think in terms of one size fits all approaches. Intelligent people think in terms of nuance and targeted approaches to minimize overall damage to people's lives.

You know what I am doing? I have told my parents to be extra special careful and to quarantine. I live in a state where there are no mandatory stay at home orders, simply advisories. We don't have police action against civilians here. But the vast majority of adults, myself included have followed the advisories, because we are responsible adults. When I go out, I wear my mask and I dutifully stay 6 feet or more from others.

We are the United States of America. We are not Communist China. You had best remember that. Our government serves us, not the other way around. Our government was never given the authority to incarcerate innocent people and shut down businesses. Those are un-Constitutional. Our government has the obligation to use it's superior information collecting powers to advise us adults on how to best solve this problem and us adults should do the right thing, recognizing there will always be idiots out there that ignore the advice. But we don't trash 250 years of precedent, law, and our Constitution, just because we are fearful.
