Locogringo, I didn't follow the Michael Flynn case until recently, but now that I have, it's incredible to me how the FBI overstepped its bounds and essentially laid a perjury trap.

Before then, it was hard for me to believe that Flynn could be totally innocent. To me, it was likely that he did indeed have nefarious reasons for lying to the FBI.

Now I see that even people who make innocent mistakes have reason to fear prosecution, and that plea deals are often taken under duress.

Even Democracy Dies In Darkness acknowledges this. But then they argue that a man of Flynn's stature, intelligence, and privilege should have known better, and that suspects of all walks of life (hint hint black people) get caught in traps like this all the time.

Kudos to the Justice Department for dropping this case. It seems the fix was in all along.
