What the powers that be among the wingnuts have a hardon for is businesses that are effectively monopolies that people have to use. The Postal Service, while its attractiveness has clearly been diminished by the internet, is that kind of business. There are plenty of wealthy folks who would love to own a piece of it. They will bust the union, lower the wages, get rid of the pension and still be able to make good money even if they lower rates. I would guess it will become like a "public-private" utility if Trump is reelected.
