Do you want to know just how bad New York is and how it massively skews the US numbers? Well, I'll take your post to me and add in Cuomo's New York and the US without Cuomo's New York, so you'll understand just how shitty Governor Cuomo's handling of New York has been. He's been Governor since 2011 and he didn't do a damned thing to prepare for a pandemic or invest in that state's health care. He is at fault.

Deaths/million
Denmark = 90
Finland = 47
GB = 460
Norway = 40
Sweden = 314
US. Total = 236
US without Cuomo's New York = 166
Cuomo's New York = 1,366

Now, let's do one more thought experiment, so you understand exactly how stupid the lockdown is. Let's remove the 25,000 deaths of old people in nursing homes, because they should have been quarantined, not the rest of the population. So this proves that the US is doing better than all of those countries you listed except Norway and Finland, if you remove New York and Nursing Homes. So the answer is that we need a better Governor of New York and we should have quarantined the Nursing Homes, not the entire population of the US.

US without Cuomo's New York and without the Nursing Homes = 81
