I said "modern day Nazi's". These are the same people, just a different time period which one must make time adjustments for. The Republican party is engaged in more than just stealing money, they are openly involved in garnering power for the oligarchs, plutocrats and autocrats. We can see this in how they work to structurally change our society, to make every effort to weaken our democracy, e.g. packing the courts with extreme right wingers, election rigging, privatizing schools and prisons and using their money to buy congress, elections and politicians across the country. The Republican party's only mission is to help the oligarchs to increase control over our democracy just as they did in the time of Hoover and the Gilded Age. And we do not have death camps like in Nazi Germany, but we do have Guantanamo where they still torture people to this day. We have inhumane conditions at our immigration offices and private prisons and the Republicans are trying to cut as many social safety nets as possible and do the minimum to help the vulnerable, poor and minorities. The Republican party is not a party one can negotiate with, it is one that must be defeated. It is an ill wind that blows no good and that is sure as hell the Republican party. But we do have an answer, and that is for people to understand they must vote a straight Democratic ticket in the next election, so we can save this country. <<Me think the party is just a power broker (enterprise) for sale to the high bidders. Priority? Make money for the cabal at the top. its the funders vs. the founders. A party of polluters, privatization profiteers as in criminal justice and defense, the payday lenders, and corrupt banking interests that rig the public investing game for the privileged and clever (AKA Trump family values.) The GOP methods do not necessarily reflect anything other than getting enough votes to maintain power to keep the enterprise going. Fear of diverse "others" and victimhood serves them. Religio republicans are money changers fleecing the flocks, clearly not the believers in "teachings of Jesus Christ." They support Sunni over Shi'ite this year. Its about winning and profiting only, not conservative principles or tolerance. We do not see mass death camps - it is more likely we will have more deadly "conventional" wars based on disinformation and manipulating the Congress. Strangely, the republicans will sell out yesterdays military ally to please a new friendly best friend like Putin or even Al Assad. I especially worry they will spike a corruptly profitable and politically helpful war between India and Pakistan, or Taiwan/Hong Kong vs. China. Or perhaps Iran, or Venezuela/Cuba. A great example of who they truly are is their trump era promotion of the "blue lives matter" memes and unconditional pro police tactics. Racist dogwhistle targeting the BLM movement. BUT SUDDENLY its "dirty cops" and "justice" for the accused -- in another one-off moment, like Bush v Gore. Not NAZI's. Just despicable defectors in the name of power and money.
