DWS: Thank you for your most recent synopsis of reasons why NVX should be a winner. In your researces on the company, has it come to your attention that whooping cough is on the rise in Holland and Norway? I heard this on a local S.F. radio station today from a reliable medical source for the first time. These small countries have high rates of vaccination and so the dramatic increase is worrisome to the authorities; it Holland it has tripled to 3,000 cases. It was speculated that it might be due to a mutation in the strain; indeed, this is why it is difficult to vaccinate against influenza which mutates frequently, and also AIDS and other diseases. If this is happening, it has dramatic implications for the vaccine industry. Incidentally, the success rates of current vaccines would also be negatively affected and that a new vaccine for the new strain would have to be developed, manufactured, distributed, and administered for all target populations, whether they had been previously vaccinated or not. Talk about growing markets! Comments anyone? David
