A corona virus is one category of virus and an H1N1 is another category of virus. They're not in the same family. They are different biologically and genetically.

I don't know why comparing the death rates of each is meaningful. Just like it doesn't seem meaningful to compare the death rates between heart disease and colon cancer.

But maybe I'm missing something, so would you just tell me what your point is?

Also, the common cold is a corona virus but it seldom kills anyone. We wouldn't consider comparing the death rate from colds and from Covi-19. Doesn't each virus stand on its own?
