The CEO bought, the Ruffer fund (UK based fund manager) bought 10% of its shares, Sibanye bought in... You must keep in mind that when it traded at its lows last year (the low was at ~$1.50) it was a tiny small cap company. There are many mutual funds that cannot buy shares trading at less than $5 and many funds won't buy small caps because they simply cannot buy enough of them to make a difference to their portfolios. So that automatically limited the potential audience. And YET: just a few months ago as the crow flies, DRD which then had a 5% yield or higher, was trading at 2 and 3 dollars per share. WTF? nobody wanted to buy a going concern with a great game plan, great balance sheet, no debt, money in the bank and all the rest? HOW IS THAT? people were scouring the planet for yield and they did not buy this company? The starting point for DRD in the so called new gold bull should not have been, even w/o a bull, at least twice what it was trading at just months ago at the gold lows for the move, simply on the basis of the other dynamics going on for the last 11 years. How is that? Fuckers were scouring the planet with the yield radars, overhead sensors, and god knows what, and bought shit like junk (now being rescued, and all the rest) and they didn't buy DRD? How is that????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? What are we missing, OR, what are we getting right and need to get even more right before they do? Please weigh in if there's something constructive to add...soon LOL. everything is at a pivot point on all things. you can smell it. something is going to start happening anytime between now and soon. the tape says so. ------- Original Message -------On Tuesday, May 12, 2020 2:52 PM, G wrote: maybe i'm just being too bullish here because one needs answers to so many attacks on where the fuck to keep one's money, let alone "invest" in anything worth "investing in" such as the next gold bull market. But the more I have thought about DRD along with its yield, its apparently good relationships with both locals and the national government (including their stakes one way or another by what DRD does) and a low number of workers to get the job done relative to getting the gold out to market, and so on and so on................ except for the issue of having enough energy at a good price on the fundamental side and to a degree the RAND premium in the USD price per share, all and all.... why can't I find something to fear from this company? i've ditched hmy and gfi as far as the portfolio goes and, given the various swings we are experiencing as we I presume head toward an overall break out for companies in general to some next resistance point, which is a pretty nice blue sky away from a chart point of view, moving those funds and profits to DRD. to a degree a lot of eggs in one basket that should always be scary anytime of day. I'll leave it there unless there are some structural comments someone wants to make. I do not expect anyone to do my trade after all LOL. I can barely do anyone else's trade so why would that go well?... <g> any added butter thoughts bitter or sweet please reply to my comments.
