The number one takeaway is just how rogue Comey and McCabe went. They disobeyed explicit instructions from the DOJ, ignored recommendations of the DNI and CIA, and stonewalled Sally Yates by not answering or returning her call until the agents were already at the White House.

Incredibly, this over the top conduct was not driven by any thought that there was any evidence that Flynn committed a crime. This was a Comey operation to take Flynn out. Comey didn’t care what rules and protocols were broken in the process.
