I did SOF and EPTG with Etrade successfully today.
Could not do SOF yesterday mainly because I lost patience.
Good idea is to put a limit order at the beginning of the day that is within last day's trading range.

<<without success to short TIII, SOF, EPTG, BIGE>>

Got some TIII at 5 1/8....I received a phone message from
Inv.Relations....the 8K with details on the convertible will be
filed tomorrow (wednesday).

No shares of BIGE available at Waterhouse

And the best one of all IMO , SOF.....my order sat unfilled
all afternoon. SOF is sitting just below resistance.
Will try again tomorrow on that one.

Great find MC.

Roger,

I did some homework on utilities. Most of them rely mainly on coal and nuclear power. The ones I found with greater reliance on oil and gas are CES, EUA, FPL, and LIL. For all four, expenditures on oil and gas are about half of fuel costs.

I have opened small short positions on T and EK, which I think will be in trouble in the long run. The latest Business Week cover story (a strong bearish indicator, according to some) was on T.

Another company that rebounded recently but is probably in trouble in the long run is SGI. I would like to see it hit $18 before shorting it.

Best regards.
