The missing puzzle piece is Fox News. Not that they necessarily actually filled in the blanks, but they have promoted the idea that Obama's people have engaged in a coordinated effort to bring Trump down. Trump is vague about it because "everyone knows" this. We continually run into issues where the denizens of the echo chamber "know" certain things and assume it is common knowledge. I think Obamagate is purposely vague, so that every wack job conspiracy nut in the right wingnutosphere can formulate their own flavor, and try to argue other conspiracists into supporting their views.
