CRANBURY, N.J., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Ariel Corp. (Nasdaq:
ADSP) today announced it had received purchase orders totaling $2.6
million from Cabletron Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CS) under an existing OEM
agreement. Under the terms of the purchase order, Cabletron will take
delivery of Ariel's T1-Modem+ 56K modem boards during the next 120
days.

Anthony M. Agnello, Chairman and CEO of Ariel stated, "Cabletron is
known for great products and always gets high marks for customer
satisfaction. We're delighted to see Ariel's modem solutions play a key role
in Cabletron's remote access products. Cabletron's use of our T1-Modem
product is a major endorsement of Ariel's technology by one of the industry

The T1-Modem+ is a high-density modem pool designed for remote access
servers running either Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows NT or Unix.
T1-Modem+ gives remote access equipment OEMs and system integrators
who are, targeting Internet Service Providers and corporate Intranet MIS/IT
departments up to 30 ports of digital 56-kbps or analog 33.6-kbps V.34
remote access on a single ISA card.

RASCAL, and open RAS product for Windows NT Server, is the easiest
RAS product available today. RASCAL provides up to 48 ports of 56K
and ISDN remote access with an integrated T1/El/PRI interface and can be
installed, configured, and running in less than one hour. Unlike proprietary
RAS products, RASCAL is installed inside the NT server. RASCAL is
available in industry-standard PCI and ISA bus versions.
