Jeff, Penni, (others who I know are right there without expressly posting): thank you all so much. I feel (as does the ever-mysterious Loving Spouse) that we have real friends here. About the prostaglandin gel. It "ripens" the cervix, making it able to crank all the way open. They useta do Pitocin inductions without preconditioning the cervix. Result: a tough grunt at best, a torn uterus at worst. The induction is scheduled like a standby flight. We're non-emergency, so if an emergency patient needs one of the very few induction wards, we get bumped down the schedule. So I don't know when tomorrow ew're on.
