I think, besides being a liar, Trump is very stupid and ignorant. The only way he will 'understand' this virus is by getting it and experiencing it. At the moment, it's just the thing that ruined his 'greatest economy EVAH!' and presented him with an adversary he was unable to lie or bully out of the his way. The virus gave Trump a test he has totally failed at.

Bingo. A lot of his outright lies are that way. He says whatever he thinks will get him past the moment. So he will deny things he just said because it is the way he is wired. It doesn't matter that the video can be reviewed later. It doesn't happen until later. Which is beyond his time horizon.
