Adults many time show no symptoms. In NY, there were no deaths in the 0-9 years category. There have been 3 deaths in the 10-17 years category but ALL had substantial underlying conditions. So, maybe they get is 8n a very mild way, but they don’t die of it. But they will develop antibodies if they get it at this age. No one really knows how much immunity anyone gets out of it, but this is how immunity happens. I wouldn’t intentionally expose children but it is not the worst thing that can happen.
