Scott- Cambrian's product is for Short Haul, but it requires pair of fibers to get to the get the job done (half duplex) and cannot send the data nearly as far. Osicom's Gigamux requires only 1 fiber (full duplex) and costs a whole lot less per channel (almost $100k less per channel I believe). So, Gigamux can send the same amount of data with the same amount of fiber, over a longer distance, at a lower cost.

Another big question is when is it available??? CIEN says they have a short haul metro product but you'll have to wait until the second half of next year.
