Most of us have recognized the place is filthy for years; but I think this provided great proof of it. You've got this thing about New York. There are variables other than filth. Were this disease carried by rats rather than airborne, it might be the critical factor. But New York is the most crowded city and the biggest international business center in the world. If you want to turn this into a moral issue, it's more apt to blame it on partying than filth. Filth surely doesn't come close to international travel center as a factor. Even LA, a Red State, was hit hard but primarily in the blue part of the state (NOLA). Lord love a duck! Cities are inherently more vulnerable than rural areas. Yes, cities also tend to be blue. But when cities are hit harder, it's logical to attribute that to the close quarters and activity level, not the politics. With your "logic," you could just as easily say it's because cities have more restaurants or higher taxes or more police per person or taller buildings, which they do have. But all of those attributions would be misplaced just as them being blue is misplaced. It's simply that they are cities. Check your fallacies. My point here is the spread of this disease isn't as arbitrary as it may appear. Things are being done in ways that cause particular outcomes. Indeed. But you have to think critically to sort out the causes and effects. If romaine lettuce produces an outbreak, it's not because lettuce is green. Now, if you want to use bias rather than evidence, how about a religious one? The original outbreaks in both Korea and NY were in odd-ball religious communities, after all. As have been a number in this country where people continued to congregate washed in the blood of Jesus. As though the virus cares...
