Stage 1 is when governments start to act strange since they're covering it up. Resources begin to tighten.
(The one thing Hillary and Donald have supremely in common is that they're both the perfect type of person to blame for tons of s hitting the fan. The choice offered in that election was a dead giveaway that we'd be right where we are right now.)

Melon sized hail starts falling. Earthquakes "in diverse places".
More/stronger volcanic releases/activity.
Winter across the middle of the country becomes a 7 month ordeal.
More snow remaining on the ground longer.

Stage 2 is governments becoming more authoritarian about the resource situation.
Probability of war becomes greater.
Infrastructure damage starts getting unattended.
People get angry.

3 is widespread unrest and confusion with unpredictable govt. reactions.

I also see this as a signal that stage 2 is nearly fully entered into:
As Linette Lopez wrote on Business Insider, "...it's a perfect storm of stupid in the stock market right now."

It took a few years for stage 1 to reach this point.

Stage changes will come a bit more rapidly now.

Maybe 1 1/2 yrs to work through stage 2...maybe quicker.
