I think you may be right, but the question is whether axnt has the vision and ability to turn this company into the good performer it should be. If you had followed all the industry awards they got for good products and then saw companies like Checkpoint walk away with the great partnerships, you would be very frustrated as we are. They had, (have?) technical leadership. Seems like they need some marketing to bring a good boost to sales. Question is, can axnt follow through?

Regards,

Mark

Dear Gary - yes, from the perspective of the latest Q, AXNT (31c vs Zacks 23c) and RAPT (11c vs Zacks 11c) seem to give the former a stronger co as of the end of last Q; however, if one is to look at RAPT at the time of the merger annoucement, AXNT was not paying a premium for RAPT. Also, during that time, AXNT was showing a downtrend (stk wise) and RAPT was uptrend.

So, what does it mean? Well, imho, the past is moot. Presumbly, AXNT wanted RAPT b/c of the growth in the NT segment. For RAPT, maybe its officials could spin the notion of synergy and/or size. Ultimately, that is also moot. Afterall, as I ve said before, the merger is fairly much a sure thing. As a shr hldr of either co, I think it is more important to see where the merged co is going. Will it be able to fuse the 2 cultures with minimum amt of disruption? Will it be able to pare overheads quickly? Will it be able to cross-fertilize the two installed base?

Since both cos came out with good #s, hopefully, 1 + 1 > 2 <g>
