Well, after Trump took action, it looks like the social media platforms are now going to be branded as Editorialists, which makes them no longer subject to section 230 protections. Welcome to the new world where social media has to compete on a level playing field with the main stream media. They wanted to censor and editorialize and now they will have to deal with the consequences. There will be lawsuits to stop Trump's action, but they will find it hard to win those lawsuits, because the editorializing was not even handed and pervasive, but rather, it was targeted and limited to conservative voices. That evidence will become very apparent in the courts, which means section 230 protections are dead for these social media platforms. They did it to themselves and good riddance.
