Ali,

K6 Failure:

So from what you are saying, K6 does not have over-thermal shutdown. How do you expect this chip to compete against P-II. If you do not know, P-II has a very sophisticated thermal management system. You must learn more about human nature and average consumers before making comments about upgrading!

Now, P-II/0.25um is out. So repeat after me, Ali. "Dasvidanya, K6!" "Dasvidanya, K6!" "Dasvidanya, K6!"... Where is your buddy, Albert Kovalyov?

John.

The "friend" with the failed K-6 is a degree EE (as am I) who is product manager for processors in our fortune 500 company and who is fully aware of the motherboard, heat and voltage issues. The facts are as I described them, I acknowledged in my original post that this was a "single point" report with no widespread statistical validity, but the report, in this case, can be taken at face value.
