I wonder what impact the asset sales/spinoffs will have on their dividend payout? Any opinions? EdperBrascan has a nice dividend too but NOR will not be recieving those Norcen dividends anymore. Also NOR will lose the Noranda Forest dividends and the income from Hunter. Does anyone expect the dividend to remain at a $1? Noranda Forest will probably cut or eliminate their dividend as well once cut free. Doesn't make sense for such a high payout in bad times. Share buyback would be a better strategy for cashflow imho.

Hello Major!

I was surprised to see you posting here. I would imagine that NOR will be looking to purchase low priced strategic mining concerns (i.e. gold and other metals), during the next 6-12 months. It seems to me to be the smart, long term contrarian play. What are your thoughts?

Regards,
