You're right - the T-shirt scene was the fictional origin of "Have a Nice Day" while "Shit Happens" was a different stray comment:
as bernie just showed... YOU were the one who was right as BOTH the slogans were shown
as having fictional origins with forrest on his cross country trek... and "shit happens" happened
to be the one the black swan was referring to.

there was a little confusion on the TV version as the censors tried to change the slogan to "IT HAPPENS".
