Both Zacks and First Call show three brokers covering with low estimate of 2 cents for quarter, high of 6 cents, and med range of 4 cents. Actual results were 6 cents share. Good news. Applix will begin its rocket path upward tommorrow.

Stock will receive upgrade to Strong Buy on Wednesday
Why? Revenue has dropped sequentially by -3%,-9% and -10% YOY from the last year's quarter. My preliminary model says that DSS revenue stayed flat at $8m and CIS revenue grew at the industry growth rate of 90%.

Assuming the best of all worlds, if DSS revenue stays constant at $8m (which I think is highly optimistic) and CIS continues to grow 90% YOY (also optimistic, because this will mean they are starting to butt heads against the big players), I estimate FY98 earnings of 44c (vs First Call estimates of 30c). This doesn't make Applix a screaming buy at $6 IMO.

I say wait for the 10Q and see what the DSS/CIS story is. THat's what's going to make or break this company.
