St Johns Episcopal Church in Lafayette Square is known as the Church of the Presidents. Since its opening in 1816, every President but one has attended services there at least once. That one exception just had the church invaded, drove away its priest, and apparently had a Bible looted from the church which he posed holding up like a trophy of conquest.
