Why do you think Trump did not pursue his policy goals (e.g. the border wall, ending DACA), while his party had control of both chambers of Congress?

I recently asked a Republican who voted for trump about what trump has accomplished in the last 3 1/2 years. The only thing he could come up with was the tax cut. This is a guy who makes about $200,000 a year. I asked him if he personally had gotten any benefit from trumps tax cut. He said he hadn’t gotten any benefit but his brother who is far richer than he is was very happy with it.

I asked him about the border wall, DACA, healthcare, the VA and America’s Infrastructure. He laughed. He then said he was sorry he voted for trump and felt like a fool for believing all the lies trump told before and after the election.

I am not sure why trumpers don’t understand that this do nothing know nothing president has not accomplished anything in the entire 3 1/2 years he’s been in office! He gave a very nice tax cut to the rich. The 1% in this country. The average Joe got no benefit whatsoever from the tax cut. On the contrary, the average Joe is the one who is paying for the tax cuts for the rich.

This country is in desperate need of infrastructure remediation. Our bridges, our tunnels, our streets etc. are way overdue for repairs and rebuilding.

When trump first came into office he made a feeble attempt at decimating the affordable care act because it came from Obama. Instead of taking what Obama put together and working to make it better, trump decided it was too hard and too complicated. He just dropped the whole thing! Absolutely astounding! He even told the public that Health Care was much harder than he thought it would be. So I guess when something is too hard for the president, he can just decide not to do it!

He’s done absolutely nothing with the DACA program since he first mentioned it three years ago

We still have adults and children in cages at the Mexican border.

The border wall was an incredibly stupid idea from the very beginning. Most of the work that’s been done on the border wall since trump took office are repairs to already standing structures. Very little if any new wall has been built. And what has supposedly been built has been proven to be subpar and easily gotten through or over.

The border wall will never be built by trump or any other president.

And now we have a pandemic that trump left America totally unprepared for. Since he found out that the pandemic was here, he golfed, he held rallies, he told his base that this was a Democratic hoax. He did nothing about making sure we had test kits, PPE’s, ventilators or surgical masks. He did not alert the doctors, hospitals or the public for over two months after he was told about the pandemic.

No one will ever know why trump didn’t accomplish more when he had both chambers of Congress.

I personally believe that trump never really wanted to be president and came into the job incredibly ill equipped, uncaring and incompetent. He had no political experience whatsoever. He just had a bizarrely inflated ego which convinced him that he was smarter than everyone else in the world.

He will go down in history as the worst president America has ever had.
