<A> Advanced Radio Telecom Enters into Agreement to Enhance Density of National Coverage BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. (ART) (Nasdaq: ARTT) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with DCT Communications, Inc. (DCT) to acquire 49 additional 38 GHz licenses covering a population of approximately 63 million. With this acquisition, ART will increase its spectrum density in 28 of the top 50 markets. Following completion of this and previously announced spectrum acquisitions, ART's nationwide footprint will include: * 358 channels covering 210 markets, including 49 of the top 50 and 90 of the top 100; * population coverage of over 186 million; * multiple channels in 84% of its markets with 300 MHz of spectrum in 21 of the top 50 cities; * a domestic channel population of over 371 million (the sum of the population covered by each channel owned); * licenses covering four European countries (UK, Sweden, Norway and Denmark) with an aggregate population of over 77 million. ART will acquire all of the outstanding shares of DCT in exchange for registered shares of ART common stock with a value of approximately $28 million, subject to adjustment based upon the trading price of ART shares at the time of closing. The transaction is subject to various closing conditions, including approval by the Federal Communications Commission.
