Short interest in AGPH as of 1/15/98 vs. 12/15/97: 7,759,404 vs. 6,903,411.

So current short interest is about 26% of the shares outstanding. This is significant, in my opinion. It is getting to the point that, were I a person who believed that AGPH was overpriced and due for a fall, I would probably NOT pick AGPH to short, just becasuse of this very high short position relative to shares outstanding.

Shorts increased by about 856,000 shares in last month. So they are not giving up, nor was there much covering of short positions when AGPH got down to 28 - 29 area.

Only time will tell who is right in this stock, the longs or the shorts. As noted before on this board, I am long AGPH, and expecting ever increasing earnings from Viracept in the next several years. RR
