President Clinton said tonight that he is going to ask congress for the largest increase, in history, for medical research funding.

That's good news for biotech holders, if it passes. Maybe it will help to jumpstart this suffering sector. Unfortunately, he didn't mention Ligand by name.

FUGAZI, The biggest big boys for LGND are listed in the financial section of:
home.att.net
which list the top 10 institutions (as of 3Q, '97) as well as the top 10 mutual fund shareholders.
The page also has a link to market makers, which sometime act like big boys (buy or sell blocks of 10K or more).
Although, its not possible to tell if an individual trade is a buy or sell, most trades at the ask price are buys and most at the bid price are sells. If the size is 10K or more, it's a big boy. A link to a tape that shows individual trades is also on the above page.
