How does SUNW treat such a sales arrangement? A) Recognizing the full $3m upon signing the sales contract? Or B) do they recognize the sale as money for actual payment is received.

If a) applies, that makes them succeptible to potential creditor risk, unless they have full a full financing arrangement in place. I don't know their policy as to that.

BTW yesterday at the gym I met a friend of mine. He now works at SUNW Switzerland. He moved in there only during the 2nd half of '97, so I guess he's still learning. In fact he just came back from a 2-week SUNW training camp in San Jose (he did say San Jose). He says he is talking to customers as kind of a "sales counsel" (my term), trying to convince them about SUNW solutions. He is not from the technical or implementation side of the business. I still have to talk to him more in depth.

If anybody has some comments on the accounting treatment, that would be nice,
