Yes, I know. It's not a lack of alternatives, but you know how tech platforms work. Tech is a winner take all business. First mover advantage is extreme and usually leads to monopolies. Google, Facebook, and Twitter have monopolies on the exchange of ideas and political expression. Politicians and citizens especially could move their discussions elsewhere, but may not have the reach that they get with the widely used primary platforms. It's the same thing as if you and I have different messages, but I have $1 billion to spend on advertising and you only have $100. Who would win that messaging war? I would. Same thing with platforms. The ones with monopoly power get all the eyeballs. Messages die in ignominy on the smaller platforms.
